Every so often I have come across a person who practices the Art of Indifference… and believe me, it is an Art.  I wonder to myself if this is something that they have learned along Life’s way, from a parent or has it been there within the very core of their beings right from the start? Out of all the emotions, I think Indifference is the most calculating of them all. Only when you are on the receiving end of Indifference do you feel the impact of its power. We can overcome anger, we can change attitudes with love but as long as Indifference stands in our way, nothing will change. The person who holds Indifference close to their heart in the end, has no heart - Eileen Beniest

Anticipation

Tattoo, a mark to regret?

A memento, a photograph or even the written word can just as well record an event, or celebrate a moment; giving importance and meaning to a person, place or time. No matter that they become tarnished with age and yellowed with time, they can be brought out to reminisce upon then put back again or perhaps even discarded. Tattoos are created with the same purpose in mind; to record special moments and milestones in a person’s lifetime but as life goes on time has a way of changing minds, recreating people, their beliefs and dreams. Tattoos remain, unchanged and almost unforgiving, to serve as a constant reminder not so much of the stories depicted in these pictures but of lost opportunities or life limitations as a result of these tattoos; and as the body becomes tarnished with age, all that is left is a comic strip shadow of a former ostentatious self - Eileen Beniest

Carpe Diem

Procrastination can be soul destroying because it allows indecisiveness to play havoc with one's life. Dreams and Goals are constantly being dashed against limiting walls with each deferment of a life challenge. It is such a wasteful and unproductive energy. It creates confusion and fear of commitment especially when having to make important life-changing decisions.

Can you do me a Favor?

Sometimes I think Favors should have a service fee attached to them especially with the amount of time, effort and self-sacrifice that goes into doing them. That way, people would think twice before asking for one.

Full Circle

At some point in our lives we can all relate to the desire to ‘come full circle’ especially in our personal relationships with people. Some situations are more complex than others but whatever, we should try not to focus too much on the process of closing that ‘circle’ because oftentimes that very process can alienate us, so that one or more end up being left on the outside of the very ‘circle embrace’ we were trying so hard to realise… When that happens a wonderful opportunity has been lost - Eileen Beniest
